UK Website Taken Down By Police After Giving Protest Advice Re-Appears

A website giving advice to protesters, which was taken down last week after a request from London police came back up on Wednesday. The Fitwatch site published an article advising people worried they might be charged by police, after the Conservative Party HQ was damaged earlier this month in a protest against education cuts.

The Metropolitan Police contacted the company that hosted the website, claiming the site was being used for criminal activities, namely attempting to pervert the course of justice. The hosting company, JustHost, complied with the police request, even though it is located in the USA and UK police forces have no authority over it.

However, the article was republished on over eighty different blogs, and the site re-appeared, this time hosted by the May First organisation
