The company that first brewed Bundaberg Rum has been inducted into the Queensland Business Leaders Hall of Fame

In a combined effort by Queensland University of Technology and the State Library, Brisbanes State Library will showcase more than 120 years of rum-distilling history in Bundaberg.
The hall of fame was set up last year to preserve the state’s economic history, with Xstrata’s Mount Isa Mines company also inducted.
Queensland University of Technology business professor Peter Little says “We think it’s a wonderful story of a product coming from a rural area, supporting farmers, a product that is identified with a local region, continues to be to this day. Bundaberg Rum is one of the great iconic products of Queensland.”
