A Brisbane plant has become a social media hit, kept alive by thousands of fans around the world

The “Meet Eater” experiment is being run by a University of Queensland student to explore the links between people and computers.
The real-life plant is located at the State Library in Brisbane and is fed a measured amount of water by an automated system when people become fans of its Facebook site or write posts on its wall.

Two months after its cyber-launch, Meet Eater has more than 5,000 fans from more than 15 countries.
