Striking railway workers have been ordered back to work in light of their allegedly ‘illegal’ stop-work two days ago.
More than 400 railworkers refused to work in Townsville and at the Redbank workshops west of Brisbane, protesting impending privatization of the rail industry.
They say that their entitlements and even jobs are threatened by the imminent sale.
Queensland Rail tried to obtain an order from Fair Work Australia forcing employees back to work. The Rail, Tram and Bus Union claims that it had no prior knowledge of the strike.
