Homeless research aims to remove anonymity

The 50 lives: 50 Homes project is aimed at providing support to an estimated 350 people forced to sleep in the streets of Brisbane each night.

Co-ordinated by South Brisbane’s not-for-profit Micah Projects Inc and funded by the Mater Foundation, the campaign’s aim is to eliminate the anonymity of homeless people and to create a measurable census to target housing and other support services for vulnerable members of the community.

A lack of affordable housing due to climbing rent prices, coupled with mental health issues were two of the major reasons people found themselves homeless.
