Thousands of Australians will be marching today in the largest equal pay protest in 40 years.
The rally, organized by the Australian Services Union, protests lower wages in community services. Community Services workers are mostly women, so their lower wage contributes to the 18% wage gap between employed men and women.
Rallies are planned for Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Darwin, Adelaide, Brisbane and Canberra. The protest in Brisbane starts at 11:00, in Emma Miller Place in the Roma Street Parklands.
