18 evacuated in Red Hill house fire

Eighteen people were evacuated from a Red Hill house fire late yesterday afternoon, reports ABC news.

No one was injured in the fire which is believed to have started in a bedroom when a towel was left to close to a heater.

Queensland Fire & Rescue Service are investigating the fire, especially speculation surrounding whether the home was being used as an illegal boarding house. The eighteen residents are now staying in emergency accomodation.

I worked for 4zzz for nearly a decade. I know the people in the house opposite. Why were 18 people evacuated? International students, one dodgy landlord pilling them in. Lucky the fire didn’t spread this time.
