Zero Emissions house opened

Australia's first zero emissions house, built in Melbourne, will be opened today.

Designed and built by the CSIRO, the house is 30 km north of Melbourne's CBD. It produces s much electricity from solar panels that it's net grid energy use is essentially zero.

Doctor Alex Wonhas says that if all new housing built between next year and 2020 produced no emissions, 63 million tons of greenhouse gas would not be released.
