A new Human Rights Watch report has described the terrible living conditions faced by over
50, 000 young students daily in Quranic schools.
According to the report many of the children are forced to beg for 10 hours a day and must hand over their collections to their teachers who act as their guardians.
Their teachers provide children with poor and cramped living conditions, as well as regularly issuing beatings to students.
The report has considered an increasing number of teachers twist religious eduction into economic exploitation and the Sengalese government does not protect these children and has failed to bring offenders to justice.
