Sea Shepherd Success (tag: zedlines)

The conservation organisation Sea Shepherd remains still in high spirits after the recent whaling intervention mission in the Southern Ocean Whale Sanctuary, where the Japanese were planning to kill over a 1000 endangered whale species.

The Steve Irwin, the Bob Barker, and the Ady Gil ships of the Sea Shepherd fleet were successful in saving 528 whales, over half of the Japanese quota. Sea Shepherd predicted that because of their efforts little profit will be made this whaling season.

Japanese Fisheries Representative Takashi Mori however was of a different opinion, stating that “the lack of samples could affect the accuracy of our research”
