Do you want a vote on #Daylight Savings in SEQld? Qld Premier is asking now on Twitter

Queensland Premier Anna Bligh is asking if people want a vote on daylight savings in South-East Queensland. Ms Bligh sent a message asking for people's opinions from her Twitter account at about 2.15 this afternoon.

The question comes after Independent Queensland MP Peter Wellington formally proposed to State Parliament today that Queenslanders vote on the issue.

Replies to Ms Bligh can be seen if you click here.

The Daylight Savings for South-East Queensland Twitter account had a message saying "of course" the issue should be voted on again, and that a dual timezone system for Queensland was workable.

A website opposed to daylight savings in Queensland had no response to the news yet.

A referendum of Queenslanders in 1992 rejected daylight savings 54.5% to 45.5%

Ms Bligh asked people using Twitter to reply to her using the hashtag "#daylight". What is a hashtag? If people post Twitter messages containing that tag, including the # sign at the front, it will be very easy for the people reading the replies about daylight savings
