WW2 bomb shuts down Berlin airport

An unexploded bomb shut down Berlin’s main international airport for several hours yesterday.

The quarter-tonne bomb, which was dropped by British aircraft in the Second World War, was discovered by construction workers and defused by police.

But hundreds of passengers on about 40 flights suffered a several-hour delay as they were evacuated.
