Greenpeace Whaling Activists in Japanese Court Trial

Greenpeace activists Junichi Sato and Toru Suzuki face up to 10 years prison in Japan for exposing government corruption within the whaling industry.

In 2008, Sato and Suzuki exposed a scandal involving government corruption entrenched within the taxpayer-funded whaling industry.

Both activists seized a box of embezzled whale meat attempting to end Japanese whaling in the Southern Ocean.

They are currently defending their actions with the trial hearings continuing through to June 2010.
