Facebook pages may compromise trials

Internet experts have claimed that criminal cases could be aborted in cases where memorial sites are hijacked or commented on by witnesses.

Head of Deakin University’s Information Systems Matthew Warren says that comments posted on the page could put at risk the process of ‘innocent until proven guilty’.

Mr Warren says media attention on hijacked sites may result in greater exposure of such comments.
