Australian Greens Leader Bob Brown and Whaling

Australian Greens Leader Bob Brown said Prime Minister Kevin Rudd should be taking the Japanese whalers to the International Court of Justice this whaling season and not next whaling season.

Brown said thousands of whales have been slaughtered while Kevin Rudd has dithered over action.

Rudd promised Australians court action in 2007 against whalers.

Brown said Australia should seek an injunction to stop current whaling while the International Court of Justice determines the matter.

The Greens will hold a protest in front of the Japanese Embassy in Canberra tomorrow at 11am to hear speakers from the Greens and Sea Shepherd.
