HMAS Desecrated

Vandals desecrate the HMAS Brisbane memorial on the Sunshine Coast.

The HMAS Brisbane was a Royal Australian Navy destroyer that served in the Vietnam and Gulf Wars.

The ship sunk in 2005 in the ocean off the point of Alexandra Headland, and the memorial’s bow signals the direction where it lies.

Maroochydore RSL sub-branch president Terry Meehan says The Alexandra Headland memorial is a site where diggers and people travel to pay homage.
