Police called on to take over animal cruelty prosecutions

The Queensland state police have been called on to take responsibilty for prosecuting animal cruelty charges from the R.S.P.C.A.

These calls come in light of revelations that the R.S.P.C.A. does not have the resources to pursue expensive court actions.

R.S.P.C.A. Queensland spent more than 65 thousand dollars on legal fees last year, yet recieves only 2% of its funding from the government. The majority of its budget is still received through donations by the public.
